About Us

Our Story

We, Indika, Thushara, Benaragama, and Wasala, are a group of schoolmates who have stuck together since the age of five, as we begun on our educational journey together in the 1980s.

Each one of us embarked on our own unique journey after completing our higher education. Indika becomes a trader and distributor. Thushara transitions from working in banking to a career in IT. Benaragama sets out on a journey to become a skilled marine engineer, while Wasala starts his career as a chemist and settles in the world of marketing.

Despite our divergent journeys, our bond as brothers remains unbroken. Every challenge we encountered was met head-on, with unwavering determination and a united front. Our bond is as enduring as a timeless tale.

"Meditation" at Tara Ayurveda, a traditional Ayurvedic treatment from Sri Lanka, is a practice aimed at promoting wellness. Through focused breathing and mental concentration, it helps to calm the mind, reduce stress, and enhance overall health and well-being.

Dr.Nishan Jayasundara

Dr. Nishan Jayasundara graduated as a Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from University of Colombo - Faculty of Indigenous Medicine. He obtained special training in Sri Lankan Indigenous Medicine from one of the most renowned indigenous medical gurus in the country - Vaidyacharya Kottayawatte Ranbanda (1928-2015), therefore combing the best of Ayurveda and Sri Lankan Indigenous Medicine in his holistic treatment approach. Nishan has presented his research work in many international conferences including the World Cancer Congress (Paris-2016). He has made several media appearances creating an awareness in the public on preventing non-communicable diseases through lifestyle & food habits. He also travels to Europe every year sharing his wisdom of Ayurveda on leading a healthier & happy life. Nishan lives in Panadura - a small city in the west coast of Sri Lanka.

Dr. Chathurika Harischandra

Dr. Chathurika Harischandra graduated as a Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery from Faculty of Indigenous Medicine - University of Colombo. During her internship, she worked in two hospitals: the National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital in Colombo and the District Ayurveda Hospital in Beliatta, followed by her research module at Bandaranayaka Memorial Ayurveda Research Institute in Nawinna. Dr. Chathurika studied 'Gedi-vana-pilika', one of the branches of Sri Lankan Indigenous Medicine that deals with treatment of Ulcers and Tumors under the apprenticeship of Vaidyacharya Premasiri (1942 - present). Dr. Chathurika is a talented Ayurveda practitioner who is keen on managing a given clinical condition by using minimal amount of medicine.
